On the Bridges of Budapest

On the Bridges of Budapest

When my wife and I went to Budapest, we had no idea about the profound power of the bridges over the majestic Danube River flowing with so much history.

Buda and Pest are two cities connected with eight bridges, each one with its particular stories and anecdotes filling it with identity you can feel each time you cross each of them.

At least, that was what I felt with my wife, experiencing such sense of widening life experience by running into people and places like a pleasant painting where we felt so welcomed and part of it.

So, every day we wanted to cross at least, one of the bridges and felt its power and history enhancing our existence and changing us with a distinctive trend to keep crossing to connect with the other shore, back and forth, with extreme pleasure for the new encounters and experiences to come up, and so forth.

However, something strange prevails on us, that sensation of transition in the middle of the bridge receiving the splendor of the Danube River and its freshness on our faces and spirits that make us slow down to savor it, becoming a delightful addiction.

When we left, we could not avoid feeling sad, but we hold on to the passing through each of those beautiful bridges as a testament of our pursue for connection that they do stand for and we carry since, for good.

So, we do not know when are we going back to Budapest but certainly, we have not entirely left and never will because, we are attached to the constant passing through these bridges of life connecting our hearts and souls with people and places and experiences, day and night.
